In 2008, the output value of the manufacturing of communication equipment, computer and other electronic equipment was RMB168.81 billion yuan among the eight pillar industries in Dongguan with a certain scale. The industrial output value was generated by E-information companies in Dongguan with a certain scale recorded RMB277.501 billion yuan. Among the international Top 500, nearly 50 companies have invested in Dongguan, which nearly 20 companies are E-information manufacturers.  Dongguan has set up relative integrity and complete industrial system which takes E-information manufactures as the lead. Technology intensive and high additional value industries such as communication equipment, computer and other E-information manufactures have become its leading industries. Among the parts assembling a complete computer, more than 95% are made in Dongguan.
